The Department of Human Services of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians is committed to the support and preservation of all aspects of family life, and to wrapping our services around the Anishnaabek communities. We will help restore holistic balance by calling upon existing resources of elders, trained professionals, traditional and spiritual leaders to empower individuals and families, and strengthen the circle of life as envisioned by our Odawa ancestors.

A Note from the LTBB Department of Human Services

Aanii Tribal Citizens!

We just wanted to pass along some information to clarify what The LTBB Department of Human Services may be able to help and assist clients with as far as housing and emergencies are concerned. Please make note of this.

The LTBB Department of Human Services may be able help with the following emergency help, dependent upon funds available; (some restrictions apply)

Evictions, to keep clients in their current homes
Shut off notices for utilities, i.e. gas, electric and water (please contact us before shut off occurs, if possible)
Emergency clothing
Emergency and non-emergency food from our Food Distribution Program
Social Services

The LTBB Department of Human Services does not help with the following;

Vehicle Repairs
Vehicle Purchases
Home Repairs
Moving into a new home or apartment (this includes renting or purchasing)
Filling propane tanks at a new home
Turning on electric at a new home
Moving Expenses
Hotel Stays
Paternity/DNA Testing
