Larval Fish Ecology in Sturgeon Bay

The larval stage of a fish’s life is critical to its survival.  By  studying larval fish, we get a glimpse into the future of a fish population.  The GLFP monitors the timing, abundance, and condition of larval fish in conjunction with other environmental variables in Sturgeon Bay.  We will use the information derived from this project to assess threats to larval fish survival, examine the factors to promote healthy populations of young fish, and predict suitable habitat for larval fishes throughout the Great Lakes region.
